Sunday
Morning
Our main worship service is held at 10:00 am
every Sunday morning year-round. This is a broadly inclusive style of worship,
embracing worship practices from the traditional to the contemporary and in
between.
Communion
The Sacrament of Holy Communion is held within the main worship
service four times a year. We alternate between two styles: (1) serving the
elements in the pews with individual glasses for the grape juice; and (2)
people moving to the stations and partaking from a common cup by
intinction.
Also, later in the day, on each of these four communion Sundays,
Home Communion Servers take the elements to people who are
home-bound.
In addition to our four main communion occasions, a brief
communion is held after the worship service on the first Sunday of each
month, except when a main communion is held on or near that Sunday. See the
Pastoral Care page for details.
Baptism
Infants and children are baptized as requested, with the dates
negotiable.
The baptism of youth or adults takes place in conjunction with
Confirmation following preparation through the annual
Confirmation Class.
To request baptism in either form, please contact the church
office.

Schedule of Services
Longest Night Service
This is an annual worship service, held on or about
December 21 (the longest night of the year), usually in the evening. It's
purpose is to recognize that, in the midst of the joyful Advent and Christmas
season, not everyone is able to enter fully into the joyful mood.
Sorrow and tragedy can make Christmas a difficult and painful
time. This includes someone who is grieving the death of a loved one or whose
life has been shattered by some tragedy; it also includes anyone who is living
through a difficult struggle or crisis in their life, or who has experienced
any significant loss.
For these people especially, the Longest Night Service is an
opportunity to be with the feelings in the presence of a loving and caring God,
and others who are compassionately open to this side of life.
The service is presented ecumenically: members of all the
churches are invited and welcome to attend; the service is conducted by several
pastors and ministers from various churches; and it is held at different
churches each year. |
