Youth Ministry

Sunday School

Sunday School is offered each Sunday for ages 3 and up beginning in September (the Sunday after Labour Day) to May (the Sunday before the Victoria Day weekend). Junior Congregation (children and youth of all ages together) is offered on holiday Sundays and throughout the summer.

Teachers are provided with an orientation at the beginning of each unit to preview the unit and develop teaching skills.  Details

Youth at Church! (YaC!)

This program is offered to all teens, grade 7 to 12 and older. They meet each Sunday for discussion about current issues, planning for worship or other happening events and Skittles. They have provided worship leadership, attended youth rallies, had their own retreat and they have some great social times as well. Led by our Youth Minister, Helen Reed.  Details

C.G.I.T. (Canadian Girls in Training)

C.G.I.T. meets every Monday from 7:00 - 8:30 pm. This program is open to all girls grades 7 to 12 of any denomination. The program is designed to build self-esteem, raise awareness of social issues, provide leadership training and have fun while doing that. The registration fee for this program is $25.00 and there is always room for more girls to participate. Details

Explorers

This program is offered to girls in grades 4 - 6 of any denomination. They meet every Monday evening from 7:00 - 8:30 pm.

CGIT and Explorers continue to do activities together.  Details

Scouting

The 2nd Camrose Scout group is sponsored by Camrose United church and it is open to both boys and girls and includes Beavers, Cubs, Scouts and Venturers.    Details

 

Religion In Life Classes are offered in January and February. Details

 

Confirmation Class

An opportunity for youth, age 14 and over, to prepare for full church membership by confirmation. Details

Church Camps

Bar Harbour Youth Camp

Bar Harbour is an Alberta Camping Association accredited camp that hosts 5 non-denominational Christian style camps for youth each July. Located on the southeast corner of Buffalo Lake in Alberta, the camp is situated on 100 secluded acres with a private sandy beach, ball diamond, modern kitchen, hot showers and flush toilets, dry cabins, canoeing, large campfire area, qualified staff and much, much more. Camp Wohelo

CGIT (Canadian Girls in Training) Camp Wohelo is an interdenominational all-girls Christian camp located one hour southwest of Edmonton, Alberta on Pigeon Lake. Residential camping programs for girls, mothers and young children are offered at Camp Wohelo which allow them the freedom to create friendships, develop skills and make memories in a safe, supportive environment.
